De excentrieke Maria Caterina Dei studeerde af in literatuur, maar werd verliefd op de wereld van wijn en besloot uiteindelijk om het familiebedrijf Cantine Dei te gaan leiden. En met grandioos succes!

Wat een absolute topwijn! 100% Sangiovese van single vineyard Bossona met veel tufsteen in de bodem. Lagering gedurende 36 maanden op grote tonneaux en 12 maanden op fles. Vol van body, complex maar toch elegant. Rijp donker fruit, wat gerookte, aardse en ook wat florale tonen. Het hout is bijzonder goed geïntegreerd.

Deze wijn behoort tot onze begeerde selectie 'Icoon classics'. Daaronder vallen de wijnen van absolute topklasse; de buitencategorie van cultwijnen en klassiekers. Vanwege de enorme vraag, maar het zeer beperkte aanbod, betekent dat ook grote schaarste. Wij zijn daarom erg trots dat wij u nu de unieke kans kunnen bieden een klein aantal flessen aan te bieden, tegen een zeer scherpe prijs.

What catches your attention immediately here is the freshness to the fruit. Cherry, plum and orange-peel provide brightness to the wine from the start. Then, it’s full-bodied with a well-placed balance of fruit and oak tannin that will guarantee a long life to this riserva. However, it’s delicious even now.

The 2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva Bossona is deeply alluring yet still needs to unwind a bit more. It’s dark in nature yet floral, with ripe black cherries, balsam herbs, hints of cacao and smoke. This enters the palate soft and silky, energized by brilliant acidity, with candied ginger giving way to red currants and finally, a coating of fine tannin toward the close. Both savory and sweet, this tapers off with a herbal and floral thrust and a twang of salted licorice. Brava; what a beauty. The Riserva Bossona is 100% Sangiovese refined for two years in tonneaux, followed by another year in cask.

Überaus erfreuliche Blume nach Maraschino-Kirschen, ein Hauch von Tabak krönt den Auftakt; vereint robuste Tannine und eine schöne Saftigkeit, endet lang auf Noten von reifem Steinobst, auch Gewürze und verführerische balsamische Noten. Sollte noch reifen.
