A linear, chewy red with pretty, creamy tannins and delicious berry, walnut, and cedar character. It's medium-to full-bodied with light tannins and a medium finish. Give it two or three years to come together. Drink after 2023.

Always a property that ages well and offers good value, the 2018 gives a less exuberant but certainly successful and well-ripened take on the vintage. The highly tannic grip is still a little inflexible right now.

The 2018 La Tour de By is a juicy, hearty Médoc. Succulent black cherry, scorched earth, gravel, chocolate, leather, licorice and spice are kicker up a few notches. The 2018 offers admirable depth, along with some angular contours that might soften a bit over time. There is plenty of character, that much is evident. I imagine the Tour de By will really come alive at the dinner table.
