The 2020 Lespault-Martillac Blanc is just as compelling as it was from barrel. Hints of lemon confit, marzipan, tangerine oil and passionfruit all grace this exquisite white. A healthy dollop of Sémillon and a touch of French oak lend notable textural nuance throughout. This airy, gracious dry white is a winner.

The 2020 Lespault-Martillac Blanc as a lovely bouquet with tropical tones, more than the Domaine de la Solitude, the 70% new oak is neatly integrated. The palate is weighty and concentrated though the acidicity keeps it on an even keep. Dried honey and light apricot notes towards the persistent finish, a hint of lemongrass popping up on the aftertaste. This can be approached young.

Classic white Pessac with a leaning towards seductive and polished smoked apricot stone fruits. Good stuff.

The 2020 Lespault-Martillac Blanc, owned by Olivier Bernard, has a generous nose with tropical fruit mixed with marzipan and almond shavings, quite seductive even if it does lack some delineation. The palate is well balanced and slightly honeyed in texture, touches of pineapple, peach and apricot with a lightly spiced finish. It will drink early, so don’t feel obliged to cellar for an extended period.
