"Grand style of Margaret River Chardonnay"
"Lime, pear, honey biscuits, vanilla and spice, a flicker of struck match. It’s powerful and slick, some custard powder and lime pie richness, something more nutty and savoury, tight and juicy acidity to balance with fine chalk dust feel, and a long gently buttery, yet fresh finish. Grand style of Margaret River Chardonnay on show here." (Wine Front, 95/100)

Huon Hooke
96/100 punten
Bright, light yellow colour. Aromas of smoky sulfides, citrus fruits and parmesan cheese, a super-funky bouquet, the palate intense and powerful, the fruit concentrated and very persistent, balanced by vibrant acidity. An impressive wine with great character and drive.

The complexity here is a real highlight, with aromas of grapefruit, hazelnut and flint, as well as lemon peel and peach. Attractive purity of fruit on the palate, too. Sleek and tart lemons and peaches sit in linear and elegant mode.

Where the Purus is Dijon clones, Artus is Gingin; the pair offer a crystal-clear comparison of their inherent clonal differences. Wild ferment, 'unrestricted mlf', matured in French oak (40% new) for 10 months. Total fruit horsepower here – rumbling undercurrents of ripe yellow peach littered with crushed and toasted cashew and pepper. The acidity that threads its way through it all is briny and fresh, roping in the voluptuous fruit and creating balance in the mouth. Where the Purus is mineral and lean, this is complex, nutty and intense. Choose your weapon.
