"Pure klasse van een groot terroir"
De pure klasse van Rebus illustreert op overtuigende wijze dat Margaret River een groot terroir is voor cabernet sauvignon, de hoge lekker-factor laat zien dat Bruce Dukes een wijnmaker is van de hoogste categorie.
De wijn laat zich nu al heerlijk genieten bij een steak van de gril of gebraden eend maar zal in de komende 7 tot 8 jaar winnen aan complexiteit en zeggingskracht.
"Engages you in a split second with its pirouette of juicy redcurrant, blackcurrant, spice and bay leaf. No need for introspection, just sheer hedonistic enjoyment." (James Halliday, 94/100).

This has a very impressively fresh and focused feel with violets, blueberries and spiced cherries on offer, as well as a sleek, plush and fresh feel on the blueberry and plum-flavored palate. This has plenty of appeal now. Drink over the next decade.

Top Value
Deep, concentrated, youthful purple/red colour. A lovely fresh, clean, bright blackcurrant cabernet fruit aroma, which translates well to the full-bodied palate. It's concentrated, powerful and bold, and very tannic. It demands patience. Very chewy finish. It's a whopper and should evolve into an even smarter wine in time.

This is Wilyabrup Cabernet with 3.5% Merlot and 3% Malbec, which is perfectly cromulent for adding a layer of complexity. Blueberry, cherry pie, charcoal, nori, sage and spice. It’s medium-bodied or a little above, dense and packed with dark cherry, bitter chocolate and dried herb, tannin is rich with a slate texture, tangy fresh blackberry acidity, thick and rumbling on a long and thoroughly regional finish, with some bush perfume trailing. Sports that tension that many 2017 Margaret River Cabs show. Excellent. Tannin a highlight.
